VLB Praise & Worship Leader                                                  VLB Leader

Purpose of the VLB

For each auxiliary God has provided a specific ministry to help accomplish the work. For the Victory Leaders Band, the purpose is:

1. To evangelize the youth
2. To establish young people through Bible study and prayer
3. To inspire young people to raise funds for the printing of the gospel
4. To train young people to serve the Church and assist the program of God
5. To train young people for Christian service
6. To be a channel through which the local church is able to reach new people

History of the VLB

It is essential that youth receive training which will enable them to be of service to God and His Church. God has provided the Victory Leaders Band to be that channel through which young people can become equipped for duty. Realizing this necessity, the Questions and Subjects Committee of 1928 made the following proposal:

"We believe our young people could be far happier in the service of the Lord, of far greater value to the work of the Church, and themselves rooted and grounded in the Church, if they were organized into band for prayer, for Bible study, for Christian service."

The Questions and Subjects Committee of the 47th Annual Assembly in 1952 made the following recommendation:

"We recommend that the membership of the Victory Leaders Band be confined to all people from twelve to thirty-five years of age."

Tract Ministry

Throughout the history of the Church, the Victory Leaders have kept the printed gospel before the public. We cannot afford for our presses to be silent no matter the cost. The Church has the greatest thing in the world to advertise - it has the truth, the Word of God rightly divided; it has the way of eternal life. There is no place so remote but that it can be reached by outreach literature today.
The Banner Program

The Banner Program is a workable plan to keep our church presses working diligently and the printer's ink fresh upon tablets of paper. This is an opportunity for the Victory Leaders of today to be shining examples of what youth can do when devoting their time and attention to the needs of God's Church.

Each local VLB Band and Gleaner Band is asked to raise a special offering for Outreach Literature. At the end of the convention year the total of each offering should be submitted to the Regional VLB Coordinator who then will advise the General VLB Coordinator of the results. The local VLB Band and the local Gleaner Band who raises the largest offering will be presented a VLB/Gleaner banner at the General Assembly during the VLB program.

The efforts promoted for this plan should not replace the weekly VLB/Gleaner offerings. Victory Leaders, let us rally to the support of the need of the Church! Great things may be ours if we but do our part; we can always rest assured that God will do His part.
Tract-A-Day Program

The young people can be of service to God and His Church by helping to complete the work of the ministry. Since the work of the Victory Leaders Band is to assist in the furtherance of the gospel, every Victory Leader should participate in passing out an average of at least one tract daily. This would be 365 tracts per year. The young people can be active distributors of the Word! God depends upon the young people to help get the work done. This is a special work. Catch the zeal of spreading the gospel and assist the Church in taking the message to the world! Young people, you can be soul winners for Jesus!
